Neural Networks in Nature
One of my favorite times to be in the woods is after a storm. The dampness and the fog create a surreal atmosphere that surrounds you in a way that is both familiar and peaceful, yet somehow unsettling.

Back in the day before Instagram, most photography was shared through forums and photoblog websites. Photographers would upload their images to sites like Flickr and then share those photos, using the links generated by Flickr, to post everywhere else. It was a pretty good system and kept everything in one place. The links would then bring people back to that photographer's Flickr account which would act as their online portfolio.
I apologize, that was a click bait title and a very dirty trick. Especially because the two can't really be compared any more than you can compare a pickup truck and a passenger sedan. You are in the market for either one or the other. One will work for your situation and the other will not, at least in most cases.
One of the benefits of having soccer practice next to a Gothic Cathedral is that it gives you something to shoot while you wait for practice to finish. I spent a few minutes the other night taking advantage of the earlier sunset and grabbing some blue hour / night shots around Bryn Athen Cathedral.
Spent a week in North Wildwood New Jersey at the end of August. This was the first time I left the big expensive full frame Canon and "L" lenses at home and instead only brought the Lumix GX9. Granted, it is newer and therefore more fun to play with, but it really has impressed me. So much so, that I'm starting to take a more serious look at Micro Four Thirds in general.
A walk in Chicago, in June, with the Panasonic GX9 and Lumix 12-35 / F2.8.Â
Back in May I went hiking at Pine Creek Gorge, otherwise known as "The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania". It's located in Tioga State Forest in North-Central Pennsylvania and spans 3 counties starting near Wellsboro, PA. The town is very quaint and is very much like other small towns in the center of the state. It's about 3 hours from where I grew up, but I had never heard of it until a few years ago.Â
Went fishing at Core Creek Park a few weeks ago and brought along the Tamron SP 35mm F/1.8 Di VC USD. Since I mostly shoot Canon these days, I never really had the desire to pick up a Tamron. I ended up with it on a whim a while back when I was looking to get a used Canon 35mm F2.0. The shop didn't have any (even new ones) on hand, but had this used at a decent price, so I took a chance.Â
Over the years, I've belonged to many different websites related to photography. Most of the websites were portfolio based sites designed to showcase your work.
I don't normally shoot weddings, but good friends of mine asked if I would shoot theirs. I decided it would be my wedding present to them. What I didn't expect was how much fun it was. Not that I'm going into the wedding photography business anytime soon, but I definitely would consider shooting another one. If the right person asked and if the venue was half as nice theirs, I would do it again.
The project shown here was an in house project for our new showroom in our west coast office.
As I’ve also mentioned in other posts, it is not often I get to see the final results in a project as I am usually involved early on in the process. When an opportunity comes up it’s good to see how close I was able to get it.
I spent most of this past week working on editing some photos. One of the groups of photos I edited was from Bowman’s Hill Tower in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.
